Ultra Q: Dark Fantasy[]
Advanced Human Genome is an artificially created life form through genetic manipulation that was developed 30 years ago, possessing genes superior to those of modern humans. They excel in intelligence, physical abilities, and other aspects, and reproduce through a form of cellular division while also being able to decompose human bodies and directly absorb their substances.
However, during the embryonic stage in the test tube, Advanced Human Genome exhibited a strong desire to venture outside and began to move by breaking the glass with its own strength. This behavior surprised the genetic researchers responsible for the study of Advanced Human Genome. This life form was subsequently named Yumiko Yamase
.In adulthood, Yumiko ascended to the position of chief research scientist at the Human Chromosome Experiment Institute. Despite being hailed as a genius by those around her, Yumiko harbored a deep disdain for humanity. She believed that the flaws of humanity resided in its genes and sought to eliminate all undesirable traits from the human population, transforming them into beings with superior genes, merging them with herself, deeming this the epitome of "perfect humanity".
Consequently, she began attempting to assimilate others to obtain superior DNA, aiming to remodel and assimilate humanity. One night, she assimilated six researchers within the institute, leading to widespread attention due to the collective disappearances. Yumiko, having absorbed the genes of these researchers, briefly lost her memory, becoming the sole survivor.
When Yumiko showed her research experiments to Ryo Kusunoki, who came to investigate, she expressed that if the experiments were successful, the world would be populated with exceptional individuals, which she considered a positive outcome. She also warned against excessive homogenization of humanity, stating that it would impede societal development and even lead to self-destruction.
However, another researcher, Kawano, who harbored a secret crush on Yumiko, expressed contrasting views. He believed that humans couldn't entirely pass on superior genes from parents to offspring and argued that it was precisely due to humanity's imperfections that it possessed limitless potential.
Upon regaining her memories, Yumiko resolved to continue her assimilation plan targeting all of humanity. After accepting Kawano's confession, Yamase forcibly assimilated Kawano's life using her decomposition ability and chased after Ryo and Atsuko, who were trying to escape. However, Yumiko began to undergo spontaneous division. It turned out that Kawano's refusal to merge triggered cellular apoptosis, resulting in Yumiko's demise during the splitting process.
However, due to the earlier Yamase having already absorbed several researchers, the city was now teeming with countless replicas of Yamase. The Advance Human Genome would continue to thrive, and humanity was silently nearing its end, but these were events that were now beyond prediction.
