An alien living on Earth, Alien Igaru (イガル星人 Igaru Seijin?) is a disturbed fan of Rena Sayama and possibly connected to a series of murders. His real name is later revealed to be Pigmon.

History

Igaru was from royalty before coming to earth, and was even the representative to the Star Cluster Council Alliance for his people. His people were peaceful and because of that they were exploited politically and then wiped out. Pigmon was representing his people to the Star Cluster Council when the genocide took place and was given permission to relocate to Earth where he was given a place to stay by the (presumably) SSSP in the Alien City. There he took on a more humanoid form. However, he was a shut in and besides his rations of ramen bowls, his only interactions with the outside was mainly through the internet where he learned of Rena Sayama. It was through this that he made three human friends (He wore his disguise of a wig and mask).

Pigmon's first appearance

A member of an unknown race on Earth, the creature was the size of a dwarf or young child. It was an avid if not disturbed fan of the idol Rena, getting upset to the point of childish raving and drooling when someone spoke ill of Rena on one of the internet chatrooms it visited. When Kurata and Endo were checking out the home of a recent victim of a string of strange murders he ran when the detectives called out to him. The alien proved to be faster than a normal human, and more durable as well as it was hit by a car and knocked out for a little while. When Endo saw its face it awoke and took off before either policemen could do anything.

After Shinjiro's battle the same alien spied on Endo and Rena from outside the hospital. Later while Shinjiro and Moroboshi were in the city he was seen in his room being contacted via cell phone while watching Rena on TV. The news clearly was unpleasant.

At Rena's concert, when Agent Adad appeared and attacked, the event caused Shinjiro and Moroboshi to appear in the Ultraman. When Adad threatened Rena, Pigmon appeared in his true form to protect her. However, this was the true goal of Adad, who went on to reveal that Pigmon was partially responsible for the string of murders, due to being coerced by his 'friends'. Outed as a murderer, Pigmon's throat was slit by Adad, and died on stage in front of Rena as Shinjiro tried to revive him.

Powers and Abilities

  • Durability: The alien was hit by a car and was only knocked out for a short period of time. Despite this we was shown to be beaten and harmed by a few humans.
  • Speed: Despite his size, he can outrun the average adult human.
  • True Form: Like some Earth bound races, Alien Igaru has ingested a limiter which gives him a more humanoid form. His true form is actually much larger than the average human, with its long tail it is almost snake like. In his limited form however, besides his impressive speed and durability his strength is somewhat pathetic.
    • Speed: In his true form, Pigmon could move at surprising speed, despite his large size.
    • Strength: In his true form, Pigmon showed no fear of facing a superhuman opponent, implying his own strength rivaled his enemy's.

Trivia

  • Although his height is unknown, he is possibly the shortest humanoid alien introduced in the entire series.
    • That was until it was revealed that his dwarf sized body was not his true form.
  • While not the first alien to be based of a prior alien/kaiju, Alien Igaru was the first whose source of inspiration was not originally obvious.
  • His name being Pigmon is an irony, considering the original little kaiju as friendly and considerate towards others while this one is a simple hikikomori.
    • However, this may be a reference to his miniature "drugged form" that he takes, which is smaller than average adults along with the ability to withstand impacts and crashes that proves fatal to human beings.
  • This Alien Igaru has the traits of several Japanese culture (primarily in the anime/manga/otaku community):
    • Otaku: he is a fan of Rena Sayama.
    • Hikikomori: for his lifestyle of living as a shut-in.
    • Yandere: for being overly possessive over Rena Sayama and tends to eliminate those that poorly criticizes her. However it was later revealed that this last trait was not entirely true.
