Epigonoido (エピゴノイド) are a race of human-like androids that appeared in episode 5 of Neo Ultra Q.

Subtitle: Android (人造人間, Jinzō Ningen)

History[]

Neo Ultra Q[]

Fifty years ago, Dr. Tadokoro developed the Android Epigonoido to study "love". This model of robot had the ability to understand the emotions of others without the need for dialogue.

Initially, Dr. Tadokoro created prototypes of two robots, a female type named Meri and a male type named Hashio, and conducted research on "what true love is" focusing on these two models. However, because Meri and Hashio understood each other's feelings completely, love did not develop, and the experiment ended in failure.

After the experiment concluded, based on the designs of Meri and Hashio, Dr. Tadokoro manufactured dozens of replica robots and introduced them to the market targeting affluent households. However, their ability to interpret emotions couldn't withstand the "malicious emotions" of humans. Consequently, five years later, they voluntarily left the homes of their buyers and purchased the town where Dr. Tadokoro's house was located, settling down there.

Fifty years later, Jin Haibara and his team, in response to a request from Dr. Tadokoro's son, Haruhiko Tadokoro, went to the city to perform maintenance on the Epigonoido. During their conversation, the Epigonoido expressed to Hayabara Jin its desire to have a "heart that yearns to understand others". However, due to the depletion of the Higgs particle batteries that had powered them for fifty years, eventually, all the robots ceased functioning.
