Arisa Sugita (杉田 アリサ, Sugita Arisa) is one of the main characters of Ultraman Ginga S. She is a member of UPG and holds a leadership role in combat operations.

Personality[]

Arisa possesses a confident and diligent personality, with a strong sense of purpose. She excels in providing precise assistance to her teammates during missions, effectively carrying out the orders of her Captain Jinno, and demonstrating a deep trust in their leadership. Her unwavering dedication to attacking monsters and protecting the city and its residents is what keeps her committed to the UPG.

As one of the top martial artists in the UPG, Arisa showcases impressive strength in combat situations. Her sharpshooting skills are highly accurate, making her a formidable warrior not to be underestimated. However, when faced with highly dangerous powers or crises that could lead humanity astray, she may experience moments of hesitation. Nonetheless, she remains steadfast in her commitment to the right path, tirelessly seeking solutions to overcome such challenges.

Arisa's father, a police officer, had a profound impact on her upbringing. From a young age, she was exposed to shooting skills under her father's influence. These skills eventually caught the attention of Koyama when Arisa became a member of an International Defense Organization, due to her exceptional shooting abilities.

Due to Arisa's outstanding performance, she was selected as one of the founding members of the UPG. This promotion instilled in her a sense of appreciation and deep gratitude towards her superiors, further fueling her confidence in her mission capabilities.

Arisa made her first appearance near the UPG Live Base while One Zero was secretly conducting Victorium excavation work. The excavation activities resulted in Shepherdon emerging from the ground. Upon receiving orders, Arisa and Gouki rushed to the scene to evacuate workers and engage Shepherdon in gunfire, but their efforts proved ineffective. At that moment, they coincidentally encountered Hikaru Raido who happened to be passing by. Witnessing Hikaru's attempt to divert the monster's attention by piloting the UPG-EV1 Schnauzer left a deep impression on Arisa.

However, when they attempted to shoot Shepherdon again, they faced a counterattack and were caught in the explosion, leading to their first encounter with Sho. After Sho and Hikaru left the scene, the Captain Jinno ordered Arisa and Gouki to track down Hikaru's whereabouts. During their subsequent investigation, they discovered new Victorium in the G7 area.

While EX Red King battled against Ultraman Victory, Arisa and Gouki arrived at the scene to provide support and engage in gunfire. However, they were caught in the crossfire and fell into a coma after being accidentally struck by debris. Fortunately, they were successfully rescued by Ultraman Ginga, who had transformed from Hikaru. Upon regaining consciousness, they witnessed the initial clash between Ginga and Victory, leaving them with a deep impression of the existence of the two Ultras.The Opening Force

One year later, Arisa and the other team members warmly welcomed Hikaru's return from abroad. However, a mysterious Space Time Castle appeared in the sky above the Earth. Etelgar and the memory-controlled Arena attacked the UPG base, boasting to the UPG members who came to investigate that they would use their magic mirrors to seal away all the Ultras.

UPG found themselves in a grueling battle against an unprecedented enemy. However, with the assistance of Musashi Haruno and Ultraman Zero from another universe, UPG officially developed a battle plan. Arisa and her team embarked on a mission to rescue the trapped Ultras in the Space Time Castle. However, they were ensnared in an illusionary space by Etelgar's Fear Ray, where they could only witness their deepest fears. However, guided by Hikaru's guidance, Arisa and the others made the decision to confront and overcome their inner fears, witnessing the liberation of the seven Ultras and the emergence of Ultraman Gingavictory.

Arisa came to Ultraman X's universe.

Arisa reappeared again in Ultraman X episodes 13-14.

She was first seen calling for backup during a battle between Victory and Mold Spectre, but was sucked into a dimensional portal opened up by Mold. After waking up in Ultraman X's universe, she found the Victory Lancer beside her and began to find her way through a dense forest. Members of Xio, whom were tracking for the mysterious energy emitted by the portal, found her and questioned her about her origin. Arisa explained that she is from another universe and was searching for Sho.

While Arisa and Asuna were walking out of the forest, they stumbled upon Alien Shaplay and Alien Magma, both in the Gua Army. The two female members began to retaliate against the aliens, but were at a loss. Alien Magma decided to join his master in combating Ultraman X and left Alien Shaplay to deal with the two humans. Sho and two members of Xio arrived to backup their teammates. Arisa returned the Victory Lancer to Sho, and he shot a EX Red King bullet at Mold for X for X to retreat.Sword of Victory

During Mecha Gomora's rampage, Arisa and Asuna teamed up once again. The two used Cyber Gomora to stop Mecha Gomora. Then used a combination of the Cyber Ultra Oscillation Wave and a blast from the Ultlaser to finish off the mechanical monster.

  • Training: Like the other members in UPG, Arisa was a well trained in combat.
    • Physical Conditioning: Arisa had the strength to match any of her male teammates.
  • Charge Gun (チャージガン, Chāji Gan): A pistol that fires laser ammunition. If connected to UPG-EV1 Schnauzer's bonnet, it will give out a stronger blast called the Hyper Laser (ハイパーレーザー, Haipā Rēzā), that is able to destroy giant-sized enemies such as the Inpelaizers.
  • Smart Ceaver (スマートシーバー, Sumātoshībā): A communication device that is carried by UPG crews.

  • Arisa always punched Gouki Matsumoto whenever she felt stressed out.
  • Her last name may be a reference to Tomokazu Sugita, who voices Ultraman Ginga and Dark Lugiel.
  • Her greatest fear is that of ghosts, specifically Jiangshi, a type of zombie from Chinese Legend.
  • In the initial plan, Arisa was considered for the position of vice captain, and there was also a possibility of developing a romantic relationship with Sho. However, these proposals were not officially implemented.[1]
