History

Ultraman 80

Many years ago, Aruma and Ultraman 80 used to be friends who would trick each other. In the present day, she and her monster Jacky went to Earth to study it and its inhabitants. She was seen in Takeshi Yamato's room and met two students looking for test answers. She then mischievously introduced herself as Yamato's "wife" and gave them a "magic pencil" (actually an ordinary pencil) that would help them get full marks in the tests.

The next day, as rumors spread of Yamato's wife, Jacky was sent to study human behavior, but the surplus of negative behavior translated into Minus Energy, which it absorbed. Jacky was then eaten by an elephant, turning it into the monster Zuruzla, who rampaged and prompted Yamato to transform into Ultraman 80. Eventually, 80 managed to calm them down, and Aruma called Jacky back. After apologizing for all the trouble they had caused, Aruma and Jacky thanked 80 for his help and returned to space.

Trivia

• Actress: Mariko Endo
• In the Ultra P Ultraman Land puppet shows, Aruma is re-worked as a childhood friend of Ultraman 80 with her own "giant heroine" design resembling the Ultras. Like her pet Jacky, her crest is designed after a turban shell.
