Old-man Hirano was the friend of Kondo, before he was mutated into a kaijin by Japanese military during the Pacific War. He protected Kondo and became the God Father of Kondo's daughter Chie, until she died in an air-raid. He continued to be a friend to Kondo and play him music to calm his sad soul. He only appeared in Ultraman Gaia.
