Miku Asano is a character from Ultraman Gaia. She is a member of Alchemy Stars and also the director of the Asano Ancient Creature Research Institute.
Personality[]
As a member of Alchemy Stars, Miku possesses outstanding research abilities and has a strong interest in paleontology. She has a detailed understanding and research of ancient creatures, even monsters.
However, due to childhood trauma, she initially displayed emotional instability and had a somewhat eccentric personality. She intentionally avoided contact with others and used a protective shield technology to cover her laboratory.
History[]
Pre-Ultraman Gaia[]
Miku comes from a family that specializes in paleontology, but her parents went missing when she was young. At that time, she believed that they had abandoned her in order to conduct research, which led to her extraordinary understanding and obsession with ancient organisms that were "abandoned by Mother Earth".
Later on, she inherited her parents' profession and pursued research in the field of paleontology, becoming a member of Alchemy Stars. She has apparently known Gamu for a long time, but they don't seem to get along well, and she considers Gamu's thinking to be too simple.
Ultraman Gaia[]
As an adult, Miku discovered the fossils of Anemos in the Cambrian strata of mainland China, dating back approximately 600 million years. This discovery led her to begin researching Anemos, and she learned that due to a mass extinction event in Earth's past, the species went extinct and their sadness and resentment towards being abandoned by the Earth remained in the microscopic world.
When the spirits of Anemos appeared in Tokyo's Ōnuma Reservoir, Miku hacked into XIG's Geo Network system and broadcasted a one-sided notification to the team, stating that they should not approach the creature and should not be aware of its existence. When Gamu went to visit her, she analyzed the situation and stated that in the world of quantum mechanics, there is a relative relationship between matter and consciousness, and human consciousness waves seemed to have an impact on the materialization of Anemos. She also explained that Anemos' existence was the result of the materialization of the residual thoughts of the creature.
However, when Gamu proposed that the appearance of Anemos' ghost was caused by the destructive effect of the Radical Destruction Bringer, she firmly believed that Anemos' appearance represented the Earth's hope for humans to understand the sadness of unloved creatures. When XIG attempted to attack Anemos, Miku began to identify herself as a sympathizer with Anemos and called on humanity not to destroy Anemos and other creatures. This led to a big argument with Gamu. When Anemos started destroying the environment and fighting with XIG, Miku originally wanted to try to stop XIG, but she was rebutted by Gamu, who said, "Humans also have no reason to be destroyed."

When she and Gamu witnessed Anemos and Crabgan's combination form, which secreted yellow gas that made humans its prey, she was shocked and unwilling to accept the outcome.
