Sayuri Tachibana (橘さゆり Tachibana Sayuri?) is the deputy captain of Xio. She is mostly gentle but can be severe, acting as a mother to the team. She is in charge of strategy planning and analysis. She is also an expert in lifesaving, basing all her decisions to one goal: no casualties.

History

Tachibana works as a strategist and Leutenent in Xio (Xeno Invasion Outcutters). She works away from her family, who live in Canada to stay safe from monster attacks. Once, when on a mission investigating Space Beasts, she was trapped, but transformed into Ultraman Nexus to destroy them, before flying to Canada to save her family.

Transformation

Evoltruster: Like all the other Deunamists of Nexus, Tachibana uses the Evoltruster to transform into Ultraman Nexus. She first draws it from her side and raises it in the air. A glow of light is emitted from the device. The light then transforms her into Nexus.

Powers and Skills

  • Training: Being the deputy captain of Xio, Tachibana is trained to operate various equipment and in combat.
  • Deunamist Abilities: Although not shown on-screen, Tachibana should have had the abilities of other Deunamists while she was bonded with Nexus.
  • Evoltruster: Tachibana can use this to transform into Ultraman Nexus.

Trivia

  • Sayuri's husband is played by the same actor who played Kazuki Komon, who was one of the hosts of Ultraman Nexus. Interestingly, he first appeared in the episode wherein Nexus also appeared. It could be intentionally portrayed that Sayuri's husband is actually Kazuki Komon
  • She is the sixth Deunamist (Host of Nexus), and the third Deunamist that is able to transform Nexus into Junis Mode and the first and only Deunamist not to be from the Ultra N Project Universe.
    • This was also intentionally made to give her a resemblance to Nagi Saijyo, Night Raider's sub-captain whom was the fourth. Unlike Sayuri, Nagi's time as both a Deunamist and Nexus were cut short after she fell into Dark Zagi's trap.
