"An unknown space fighter is on Earth. There are 4 of them. I leave Earth to you."

―Ultraman Xenon to Ultraman Max before he leave, Zetton's Daughter

Ultraman Xenon (ウルトラマンゼノン, Urutoraman Zenon) is Ultraman Max's superior. He arrived to help Ultraman Max when he was in danger and the one who gives Ultraman Max the Max Galaxy.

Conception

Xenon is not just based off of Zoffy, but his part was originally going to be Zoffy until Tsuburaya Productions decided to introduce a new Ultra Warrior.

Etymology

Ultraman Xenon was originally one of several names proposed for Ultraman Max.

His initial name was also going to be "Zoffa" (ゾファー, Zofā), according to Hiroshi Maruyama's Tokusatsu Design Works book.

Xenon's name may have been derived from a real-life noble gas of the same name.

Design

Xenon is based off the image of the Ultra Warrior named Melos who only appeared in The・Ultraman manga series.

History

Ultraman Max

Xenon1

Xenon in Ultraman Max

As Ultraman Max was about to be killed by Zetton, Ultraman Xenon, Max's superior from Nebula M78, appeared in a red giant ball like Max did when he came to Earth. Xenon held Zetton off and even used the Xenonium Cannon to keep him at bay, but it was blocked by Zetton's Zetton Shutter. Ultraman Xenon then summoned a new weapon from the sky to use against Zetton, but he was attacked by Zetton and the weapon attaches itself to Max's right wrist. Ultraman Max then uses the new weapon known as the Max Galaxy to destroy Zetton. Xenon told Max that Zetton was one of the five monsters Alien Zetton was using to conquer Earth and would have to deal with four more. Xenon flew back to M78, trusting Max with his assignment. Xenon returned later in Earth's orbit once Max destroyed Giga Berserke and they went back to M78. Hold On To! Future

Xenon teaming up with Max and Ribut

Shortly after Ribut reversed the effects of Max's Gudis Cell infection with the artificial antibodies developed by Hikari and Sora, Maga-Orochi emerged from its egg, having not gathered enough energy to evolve further into its Magatano-Orochi form, yet nevertheless was a significant threat to the two Ultras. Though Max was clearly in no state to battle Maga-Orochi, having been weakened by his ordeal and with his energy at a critical level, he stood up and prepared to fight. Fortunately, Xenon made his presence known by sending Max the Max Galaxy, then by recharging his energy, before finally arriving on the scene. Together, Ribut, Max and Xenon teamed up against Maga-Orochi, with Xenon weakening the Lord Monster enough so that Ribut and Max could finish it off. The Beginning

Galaxy Rescue Force Voice Drama

Ribut and Sora were later dispatched to the Galaxy Rescue Force. One day the two returned to Land of Light where they met with Xenon, who offered to spar with Ribut. Xenon and the Yullian rescue team arrived on The Kingdom's Central Planet

Now knowing of the Kingdom's location thanks to Astra's efforts, a rescue team was formed with its members being Astra, Xenon, Seven 21, Andro Melos, Hikari and Victory, guided by Sora from the Galaxy Rescue Force using technology and the Max Galaxy's powers to open a gate to the Kingdom. They were later joined by Justice, sent to them on the order of Delacion. The team infiltrated the Kingdom and split up to search for Yullian, agreeing to rendezvous back at the Eldora Tower later, but unfortunately came across some resistance.

While searching around, Xenon and Justice paired up but were attacked by Absolute Tartarus. They stalled him until Astra managed to find and rescue both Yullian and Ultraman Regulos. The team waited for Astra to arrive, delayed by an attack from Absolute Diavolo. With the Absolutians closing in and their way home shrinking by the second, things seemed grim until Astra arrived with both Yullian and Regulos with him. Despite all their hardships, the team managed to leave the Kingdom and their mission was a success.

After the rescue squad managed to escape, they arrived on Planet Blizzard pursued by the Absolutians and their forces, only for them to be met with a large gathering of Ultras. The rescue team escaped with Yullian, leaving Astra and Regulos on the planet to join the other warriors in their battle against the Absolutians. Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Destined Crossroad
