Okay, one of my favorite nonfiction shows is getting a reboot.
You see, from 2003 to 2016, there was a show called Mythbusters, with the cast of Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman, Kary Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara, that had one goal: Take myths from film and test whether they were fact or fiction.
Now, I know for a fact that I wasn't the only person in the world who was sad when the show wound up coming to an end on March 5, 2016. But there is still no end to the myths that remain to be tested.
So now, ten people, all fans of the series, have been scouted to be a new team. But as that is too many people for one team, they are doing an elimination-style show called Mythbusters: The Search to see which of these ascended fanboys and fangirls can move on to the next round, and which one of them will be the weak link that has to be sent home.
The first episode aired on Friday, January 6, and I have to say, I have high hopes for some of these people. I can't wait to see which of the remaining nine people gets to stay on as the second generation of Mythbusters. Once the people who aren't good team players or have skill sets that are simply too niche to qualify get eliminated, we should see a very solid team emerge.
